The Struggles of Fine, Unruly Summer Hair
Having super fine hair is a struggle at all times but summer can be the worst. During the Summer months it is very humid and there for hair sucks in excess moisture causing unfavorable hair .
Here is my summer salvation hair remedy.
First of all you want to use a sulfate-free shampoo.
Shampoo with sulfates dry out your hair, if you don't want to take my word for it, look it up you might be surprised at what you find.
A little FYI Cutie Pituties Bubbly Bath syrup can be used as a Shampoo and it is sulfate free. I am also in the process of designing a sulfate free shampoo in the following scents
Tea Tree and Peppermint
Sweet Orange and Lavender
and
Lemon Lime
As important as it is to use sulfate-free shampoo in the summer, it is just as important to wash your hair properly
First of all make sure your hair is completely wet and apply shampoo to the scalp and wash thoroughly to break down the oils,
Repeat only this time start at the scalp and wash to the ends. Your scalp is where all of the oil is so do not over wash the ends.
Next make sure that you condition your hair but DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT put conditioner all the way up to the scalp. Putting conditioner on your scalp is going to leave you with oily hair in no time. Be sure to start at the ends and work up about 2/3 of the way.
If you have a wet brush use it, If not Get one you will wonder how you ever lived with out it.
So now that we have the cleansing part out of the way I will share my other summer secrets.
The first being I use a light volumizing spray gel to help keep frizz at bay and blow dry with a diffuser. This is when I actually have time to do something with my hair.
Do not put heavy products on your hair as it will weigh it down.
My all time favorite summer hair product is my
Making Waves Sea Salt Spray
(available soon)
This is a spray with all natural ingredients including aloe, olive oil, argan oil, pink Himalayan sea salt, coconut oil, sea kelp and algae extract. I just Spitz on, scrunch and let air dry.
The salt adds volume and texture and is perfect for my super fine hair.
You can even make your own sea salt spray with
3/4 cup of water
1 tsp of epsom salt
1 tsp of olive oil
